Mozart Requiem & Rossini Stabat Mater
Julie-Ann Green soprano
Jody Kidwell mezzo soprano
Timothy Bentch tenor
Justin Ryan bass
Two pillar masterworks of Western music performed together on a sacred day in a sacred space: Mozart’s Requiem, his last (and unfinished) work needs no introduction. Rossini’s Stabat Mater (a first on our program in 27 years), written in sections and performed for the first time in Paris in 1842, is one of the most
passionate works ever written. Two dramatic and breathtaking jewels to celebrate this most dramatic of days.
Running time: 2 hours 20 minutes including one intermission
